Mr. Payne brings over 32 years of mechanical, operational, and project engineering experience to RPCA. His past career achievements are significant. Early in Mr. Payne’s career, he served as a General Foreman – Running Maintenance for the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) in Detroit, Michigan. His freight experience includes serving as General Manager and Senior Operating Officer for two short-line railroads. From 1983 to 1994, Mr. Payne worked with the Maryland Mass Transportation Administration as the Chief Mechanical Officer for their MARC Train Service. He has been a railroad consultant for the past 13 years, most recently as a Senior Consultant with Virginkar and Associates. George is currently employed as Vice President of PDI Rail Solutions.

    Donald Maxwell -Editor, Information Exchange

     Don has been a member of RPCA for over 25 years, and has served on the Board several terms. He is currently the Executive Director and Trip Director of The Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society. Don retired early with 30 years service from AK Steel Corporation and Allied Chemicals Ashland, KY plants in 1992 where he served in a number of management positions. He was the Executive Director for the Boyd, Lawrence, and Carter County Chapter of the American Red Cross, Executive Director and for The Highlands Museum and Discovery Center prior to taking the position at the Railroad Historical Society. Don also serves on the boards of NRHS, Cabell/Huntington Convention and Visitors Bureau, Habitat for Humanity, Spriggs Foundation, West Virginia's Operation Life Saver, Tourist Train Association of West Virginia and is an active member of ARM and TRAIN.

    Nancy Black - Corporate Secretary

Nancy Black has been involved with private railroad car ownership and
operation since "marrying into" the partnership of Black-Wong Railcar
Leasing in 1989, at which time she became a member of the RPCA. With her
husband, Brad, and their partner, Francis Wong, Nancy worked on the
maintenance, restoration and operation of several private cars, including a
former Missouri Pacific business car. Nancy has managed on-board
operations, as well as serving as a cook and car attendant. She is
presently the Operations Manager and Partner in Silver Peak Railroad
Resources, the successor company to Black-Wong Railcar Leasing.

Nancy enjoys travel in all forms, be it by private railroad car, scheduled
passenger service, and most of all on her Harley-Davidson motorcycle. She
can often be found riding her Harley in the company of her husband as they
travel the west seeking out railroad points of interest and passenger
operations.

As an RPCA member Nancy has enjoyed attending several annual conferences,
and served as the registration chairman for the 2007 Conference in San Jose,
CA. Nancy brings to the RPCA Corporate Secretary position her extensive
background in office management and human resources. She is looking forward
to meeting new members and working to further the goals of RPCA.

    Roger Fuehring-Vice President

       Roger was born and raised in Bellevue Ohio and grew up working with the Mad River & Nickel Plate Railroad Museum and Golden Age Railroad Equipment Inc. Roger spent several years working on excursion trains and private car trips. He started his railroad carrier with Indiana & Ohio Railroad & the Central Railroad Company out of Kokomo Indiana. In 1991 he founded F&M Car and Locomotive Repair, based out of central & southern Indiana and provides mechanical services for locomotives, passenger & freight cars. Roger was the former owner and manager of  F&M Rail Service based out of southern California and he has worked on many projects large and small from New York to Los Angeles. Some of his clients have included New York & Atlantic, Pacific Harbor Lines, Louisville & Indiana and many other smaller customers including grain elevators, steel mills and smaller freight and tourist railroads. Roger also works with training other companies on maintenance and
repairs to locomotives and freight cars.  Roger lives in Central Indiana
with a his wife Cathy.

     Originally from Erie, PA John got his induction into the railroad industry as a teenager after joining a local railroad museum. After graduation he began his railroad career in the shortline/tourist railroad industry. He worked his way up in both mechanical and transportation departments, eventually ending up in management. After a short time with BNSF, John founded and is currently the CEO of Ozark Mountain Railcar
